We collect names, IP addresses, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, and sometimes other contact information to our contact person(s) at our existing and potential customers as well as to our authorized users of Monocl’s platform.
For subscribers to our newsletter, we collect such information about yourself as you submit, some of which may constitute personal data (your name and your e-mail address).
We never collect any special categories of data, i.e., in accordance with the GDPR article 9, “personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade-union membership, and /…/ data concerning health or a natural person’s sex life or sexual orientation”.
Other Data from Users
We may collect job titles and other information.
We save individual searches performed by authorized users of Monocl’s platform in an anonymized format. We also save aggregated information about searches performed, as well as analyses of the same.
We save information about how often and when an authorized user logs in to Monocl’s platform, in order to follow the degree of activity at each customer.
If we receive a question for support, we collect and store the question as well as the answer to the question. We also collect aggregated statistics connected to support issues.
We store the data on servers which may reside in the cloud, inside and outside of the EU.
We store customer information for the time period during which the customer is an active customer and one (1) year thereafter (or longer, if included in documentation which must be stored longer in accordance with mandatory applicable law).
For our subscribers to our newsletters, we store the information as long as the subscription is active.
We use the information we collect in order to communicate with and fulfill our obligations towards our customers and authorized users, provide a better user experience, to provide support concerning Monocl’s platform, and in order to improve the quality of Monocl’s platform and the professional services we provide.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, you have accepted to receive marketing information from us.
We are committed to ensuring that the information we have collected about you is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect. Such measures include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.
We restrict access to personal information to Monocl’s employees, consultants, subcontractors and agents (including third party hosting platforms) who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our products and services. These companies and individuals, respectively, are bound by confidentiality obligations. Furthermore, in case of a third party we also always enter into a data processing agreement with said subcontractor.
We may also transfer the information we collect if required by mandatory applicable law.
We never sell any personal data that we collect from authorized users and customers to a third party.
In case we collect information from EU citizens and transfer such information to the USA, we only use suppliers who are certified under the Privacy Shield (SalesForce, Intercom and Dropbox).
Cookies are small files that a website or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser that enables the sites or service providers systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer.
When an authorized user logs in to Monocl’s platform, we use a session cookie to ensure that the authorized user will stay logged in, and to verify that the person logging in has the rights to do so.
We use Google Analytics in order to obtain statistics for marketing purposes and in order to evaluate marketing activities.
Monocl has obtained a publishing certificate for its database, which has been issued by the Swedish Press and Broadcasting Authority. Björn Carlsson is the editor-in-chief. By means of this certificate, Monocl is encompassed by the Swedish voluntary constitutional protection available in accordance with the Swedish fundamental law (1991:1469) on freedom of expression, chapter 1, § 9, second paragraph. Since Monocl has a publishing certificate, the GDPR does not apply for Monocl’s publication of the personal data included in the database, pursuant to national Swedish law (see reference above) in accordance with § 85 (processing and freedom of expression and information).
We do not include any special categories of personal data in Monocl’s platform.
You have the right to request information about which personal data about you we have stored, to withdraw your consent to process your personal data to the extent our processing of your personal data is based on consent, and in such case request deletion, and to request correction of your personal data.
